Gawith Hoggarth's Balkan Flake is a superb Balkan blend and a pleasure for all who enjoy a Latakia tobacco. The balance of the mix is perfect, not too smoky, just the right amount of spice and a touch of sweetness to round off the bitter. This medium cut flake is quite easy to work with and rubs well, if that is your preferred method, while those who would roll it will find it, again, easy to manage. Once you've filled your pipe with this gorgeous stuff, sip gently to savour every mouthful. That's not to say you can't guzzle this tobacco, but you'll want this experience to last.
The flakes are dark brown, rippled with golden brown Virginia and the aroma has a satisfying deep smoky richness. The Latakia content is high but not overpowering, the Oriental providing the delicious, delicate spice while the Virginias add sweetness and level the blend. Truly a long lasting delight.
