Rattray's | Hal O' The Wynd Pipe Tobacco | 50g Tin
Rattray's Hal O The Wynd is a Virginia based broken flake with some Kentucky fire-cured and a little Perique, which both add intrigue to the flavour profile and strength to the blend. The texture of the leaf is quite loose for a broken flake, but more dense than a ready rubbed. Whether you rub it further or pack it as-is, it will burn relatively cool and long. You can gauge the quality of the leaf too, by sight, smell and touch. While your nose should detect the Virginia forwardness of the blend, with hay-like scents and mild citrus, you may be able to pick out the Kentuckys gentle smokiness and possibly the Periques dark dried fruit. Hal O The Wynd can be smoked as an all day smoke, though some may find it a little too strong to repeat smoking it too soon.
